Been a little while since my last entry, so you 3 or 4 of my closest friends might be happy to see this hehehe
I was out tonight with a good friend. We went for dinner. Went for coffee. Decided it should be an "easy" night. After the coffee, we headed to our usual hang out, the Spot Bar in Shanghai. The big question at the Spot on Thursdays is "will I have more than 4 more drinks?" The reason being, with my VIP card (/gloat on), drinks are only 25RMB ($4.25 or so CAD) each, but Thursday is "Men's Night", pay 100RMB (just a smidgen over $17.00 CAD) and drink all you want from 10:00pm to 2:00am. So, we paid the 100RMB, feeling pretty good by the time 2am rolls around, then head off down the street for the "Walk".
Now, down the street, within walking distance is a slew of "bars". These particular establishments are geared entirely to the male population. Which is to say, they are filled with many a pretty girl. However, most, if not all of them are "ladies of the night", so picking one up is about as easy as picking up a dropped 5 dollar bill. Anyway, the revelation I came to was this, it is a far greater challenge, and thus far more fun to be disinterested. Unlike back home, where one is bent on gaining the attention of a pretty girl, I find the entertainment here is quite the opposite. Show zero interest, have a couple of drinks, then go home. It's a lot more challenging than one might think. Especially in these tough financial times the world seems to be in (optimistically enough slowly recovering from), and a bar chalk full of girls desperate for money.
Oh well, score another victory for me!!! Which is to say I was able to deflect all comer's on, if that's the correct phrase :-)
Will sure to be adding more of these blog entries, this is kind of fun, in a way, to a degree.

I am so going to hell for this...
Well, it seems Li'l Squid managed to make a new friend...
Allow me to introduce Lardy...
He may be a tad large, but as you can see, surprisingly light on his feet. Being in the same Martial Arts class as Li`l Squid, he is slightly more advanced...one could say he's a 3rd Degree Green Belt...
...and yes, despite his shape, he too can, and will run forever and ever...(if he isn't running...click on him...)
Coming soon, a small short starring our friends....and even before that, Li`l Squid has been made over, and his newer, more correct look will be unveiled...soon...

...another trend...
Yup, couldn't pass this up. After flying back to Ontario for my High School Reunion, and being asked many times if I was on Facebook, and thus replying "no", I decided "why not?". So there...
Nothing much else is going on...for now...
Screw Facebook...unless you really want to live like you're in highschool...still...

Nothing matters but the weekend...
From a Tuesday point of view...
Well, it would seem one project is officially finished for me. Exposure sheets for "El Superbeasto" are done and gone. "The Amazing Adrenalinis" also wrapped up for me about a month ago. The last animatic left my computer and headed for the cybor universe which is where most of the animation these days is sent, if it doesn't make to to Asia that is. Even then, it has to ride the information super highway to get from A to B. Don't know if that's really good or bad, so far, the judges are scoring very low for Animation done nowadays, especially "digital" animation. Oh well, will save that for another day :-)
Currently having fun doing exposure sheets for "Robotboy".
Certainly do miss the good old days of actually using paper and pencil to make funny drawings that move. Bah, there I go again...saving that for another day...
Here's a not so good sample of a dog walking, done the "old" way using a "new" way....which is to say, keying it out, in rough, (thus the blue lines), then doing inbetweens, and "exposing" it on 2's...all in Flash. My "avatar" was done the same way... which by the way, is actually Li`l Squid, although horribly off model hehehe.
The dog by the way, is Stanley, and that walk is a work in progress hehehe. You'll see, I'll update it as I work on it more...

The Millennial Mullet....
I'm coining a new phrase, the "Millennial Mullet". You know what it is, it's that great new hairstyle all the people want, but need a way out for when they need to be "status quo" at the flick of a comb, or simply too scared to go "all the way" (Must give props at this point to that nutty drummer guy at the "B", you know who...he went "all the way" [btw, still can't find ya in X-Men 3, if you happen to read this ;) ], oh ya, and that storyboard guy too, but I think he grew his out...).
That's right kids, the Millennial Mullet is none other than the "Faux Hawk"!!!
"I'm feeling a wee bit dangerous, and I think my hair should reflect that, and since mullets are out, and a mohawk is wayyyy too extreme, plus, I have to be in the office every Monday...I know...I'll go 1/2 way!!!!!"
I've been accused of having a mullet back in highschool, and I think there's even video proof of it LOL, and my yearbooks also contain photographic evidence, along with a plethora of rock shirts that compliment said mullet. So I know what it's like. Nowadays, the locks are gone (odd story about that too, to be told at a later date) :( but trying to make a comeback. It just doesn't appear that the gung ho follicles have the support of all the rest of the follicles, and are vastly out numbered...
Anyway, next time maybe I'll go off on a rant about those annoying brightly coloured plastic shoe slipper things that seem to work well whilst hugging trees? As soon as I can find a cool word to describe this millenium that starts with a "B" to go with "Birkenstock", I'll go off...until then...
pffftttttt!!!!!!!
oh ya, maybe some art and crap to follow soon as well...we'll see...
pffftttttt!!!!!!!!!!!! (some more)
*no names were published as I haven't talked to the namees yet, so there...

...where are they now?
A blast from the past, and a semi resurrection...
The 1994 release of 6' 8" 280lbs soon to be digitally remixed and remastered!!! Actually, maybe just remixed and mastered!! (Would have to be mastered at least once to be remastered right?) Dunno exactly when, been humming and hawing about it for quite a while now. Pretty sure it'll be done at some point...
Anyway, until then, enjoy some tiny tidbits :)
(and yes, they are in desparate need of remixing, as you'll soon find out ;) )
- 6' 8" 280lbs
- Eat a .45
- Shut the Fuck Up
- I Don't Owe You Fuck All
- Sidewalk Ballet Dancer
- Onetimer (actually for real released on Johnny Hanson Presents: Puck Rock Vol. 2 CD!!!)
But, I suppose, enough living in the past...
